Terms & Conditions
Draft for owner and legal review — last updated 7 August 2026.
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of akis.co.za and purchases from AKIS. By using our website or placing an order, you agree to these terms. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under applicable South African law.
1. About AKIS
AKIS means “Always Keep It Simple” and is operated by [INSERT FULL LEGAL ENTITY OR SOLE-PROPRIETOR NAME], trading as AKIS (“AKIS”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
- Legal status: [INSERT]
- Registration number, if applicable: [INSERT]

2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a contract to place an order. A minor may use the website only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. You are responsible for keeping account credentials confidential and for information supplied through your account.
3. Products, sizes and availability
We try to display product descriptions, colours, sizes and images accurately. Screen settings and photography may cause slight differences. Measurements are approximate unless stated otherwise. Stock is limited and tracked by variation. Placing an item in your basket does not reserve it.
4. Prices and errors
Prices are displayed in South African rand and include VAT only if AKIS is legally required and registered to charge VAT. Delivery charges are shown separately before checkout. If a material pricing, description or availability error occurs, we may reject or cancel the affected order and refund any amount paid. We will not substitute an item without your agreement.
5. Orders and formation of sale
Submitting checkout is an offer to buy. An automated order acknowledgement confirms receipt, not acceptance. We may accept or reject an order based on stock, payment authorisation, fraud checks and the accuracy of product information. A sale is accepted when we send dispatch confirmation or hand the goods to our courier. If we reject an order after payment, we will refund it using the original payment method where reasonably possible.
6. Payment
Payment is made through the secure methods shown at checkout. Payment providers may process card or banking information under their own terms and privacy notices. AKIS does not intentionally store complete card details. You confirm that you are authorised to use the selected payment method and that the information supplied is accurate.
7. Delivery
We currently deliver within South Africa by courier. Available methods, charges and estimated timeframes appear at checkout. Estimates are not guaranteed delivery dates. You must provide a complete address and ensure that someone can receive the parcel. Risk passes to you when the goods are delivered to you or your authorised recipient. If we cannot deliver within the agreed period, we will contact you and provide the remedies required by law.
8. Cancellations and cooling-off rights
Contact sales@akis.co.za as soon as possible if you wish to cancel. We cannot guarantee cancellation after dispatch. Where section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act applies, you may cancel an electronic transaction for qualifying goods without reason within seven days after receipt, subject to the Act. The direct cost of returning qualifying unwanted goods may be for your account. Statutory exclusions and other legal rights continue to apply.
9. Unwanted returns
Subject to your statutory rights, AKIS provisionally offers returns of unwanted clothing requested within 14 calendar days after delivery. Items must be unworn, unwashed, unused, in resalable condition and returned with original tags and packaging. For hygiene reasons, underwear, swimwear and similar sealed goods may not be returnable once opened unless defective or incorrectly supplied. Contact sales@akis.co.za before returning anything. Return delivery for a change-of-mind return is ordinarily your responsibility.
10. Incorrect, damaged or defective goods
Please notify us promptly with your order number and photographs where practical. If an item is incorrect, damaged on delivery, unsafe or defective, AKIS will provide the remedy required by the Consumer Protection Act, which may include collection, repair, replacement or refund. Your statutory implied warranty rights, including qualifying rights during the six-month period contemplated by the Act, are not excluded.
11. Refunds
Approved refunds are made to the original payment method where reasonably possible. Bank and payment-provider processing times are outside our control. Original delivery charges and return costs will be handled according to the reason for return and applicable law.
12. Promotions and discount codes
Promotions may have additional terms, dates, stock limits and eligibility requirements. Unless stated otherwise, discount codes cannot be combined, exchanged for cash or applied retrospectively. We may withdraw a promotion where required by law or where fraud or a material error is identified.
13. Website use and intellectual property
The AKIS name, website design, text, graphics and original content are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Supplier or third-party marks and images belong to their respective owners. You may use the website only for lawful personal shopping and may not disrupt, scrape, reverse engineer or misuse it.
14. Reviews and user content
If you submit a review or other content, it must be truthful, lawful and must not infringe another person’s rights. You grant AKIS a non-exclusive licence to display and moderate that content for operating and promoting the store. We may remove unlawful, abusive, misleading or irrelevant material.
15. Privacy and communications
Our Privacy Policy explains how we process personal information. Transactional messages about orders and accounts are part of our service. Marketing messages will be sent only where permitted by law, and each electronic marketing message will provide a reasonable way to opt out.
16. Third-party services and links
The website may rely on hosting, payment, courier, analytics and other providers or link to third-party sites. Their services may be governed by separate terms. AKIS remains responsible to the extent required by law but does not control independent third-party websites.
17. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AKIS is not liable for indirect or consequential loss that was not reasonably foreseeable. We do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability arising from gross negligence or rights and remedies under consumer-protection law.
18. Security and availability
We take reasonable steps to keep the website secure and available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. You must not introduce malicious code or attempt unauthorised access.
19. Complaints and disputes
Please first contact contact@akis.co.za so we can try to resolve the matter. You may also approach an appropriate South African regulator or consumer-protection body. These terms are governed by South African law, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of South African courts, without limiting any statutory forum available to you.
20. Changes and severability
We may update these terms prospectively by publishing a revised version and date. The version accepted when you order applies to that order. If a provision is unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to operate.
